Dennis Gilkey Launches New Company
Gilkey Organization to specialize in sustainable development
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (April 18, 2007) - Dennis Gilkey, former president and CEO of Bonita
Bay Group, has launched a new company, Gilkey Organization LLC. Gilkey will serve as chief
executive officer and managing principal of the company, which will engage in land advisory
services, investments and real estate development.
"We will specialize in projects that are environmentally sound and based on sustainable
principles," Gilkey says. "Our mission is to create value in real estate through planning and
development practices that will truly make a positive difference for the greater community today
and for future generations."
According to Gilkey, development will be more challenging and will require more public
involvement in the future. Gilkey Organization will bring parties together to solve problems and
minimize impact to the environment, enhance the surrounding community, and at the same time
create special places that maintain long-term value for future residents.
"We will bring in the right experts, develop the right vision and keep the big picture in mind in
everything we do," Gilkey says.
With corporate headquarters in Bonita Springs, Gilkey Organization will initially focus its efforts
in southwest, north-central and northeast Florida.
Gilkey has more than 33 years of experience in various land development, highway, building
and utility projects throughout Florida. Prior to founding Gilkey Organization, he served for 23
years in senior capacities at the Bonita Bay Group companies, including the last nine years as
its chief executive officer.
Gilkey serves as a commissioner on the 15-member Century Commission for a Sustainable
Florida, which is charged by the Florida Legislature to envision the future of the state 25 and 50
years into the future.
